President, Canyon Base Camp, Inc.
My partner Genevieve (Gen) and I met in Hawaii and moved to Nevada in 2021. Gen was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu and I was born in Minnesota and raised up in Eugene, Oregon. Professionally, Gen is a graphic designer and I am a software programer. For hobbies, I enjoy mountain biking, anything sports related; Gen enjoys crafting and learning new things, and we both enjoy doing things outdoors when the weather is good.
We love all of the natural beauty and activities that Southern Utah has to offer. This quaint but fascinating part of Utah features many red rock canyons and hoodoos, land that spans miles beyond the horizon, lots of wildlife, and the cool and soothing Sevier River. Our properties are located between Hatch and Panguitch Utah, these towns are small but charming. But don't let the small town feel fool you, there are so many fun things to do like mountain biking, ATV riding, trail hiking, fishing, watching a rodeo, and so much more!
In 2020 we established Canyon Base Camp, LLC, a property management business for our vacation rentals:
- OFF GRID CABIN in Rock Canyon was purchased in 2017. A 2 bedroom/2 bath little cabin, located on a private 15 acre parcel surrounded by BLM state lands. Powered by a gas generator and water from a well, this cabin is perfect for those who want a quiet getaway, that don't mind the cabin-life (no electricity unless by generator, no tv, no internet, no AC).
- ZION • BRYCE MIDWAY 3-STORY CABIN in Elk Ridge was purchased in 2017. A 3 bedroom/2.5 bath 3-story modern style cabin located near the corner of Hwy 14 and Hwy 89. It is nestled in the quiet community of Elk Ridge and is surrounded by pine trees on 1.2 acres of land. Once in a while, you get to see deer roaming around in the front yard. This property has some modern technology such as, flat screen tv's, and wi-fi. There is one bedroom with a half bath on the first floor; the middle floor is the main family room, kitchen, dining room, full bathroom, and laundry room; and upstairs you will find a master bedroom, standard bedroom, and full bathroom.

My husband David and I moved to southern Utah in September of 2015 with our four cats. We bought a former art gallery situated on almost 14 acres that includes three yurts and a barn. We fell in love with the views of the Paunsaugunt red cliffs, Red Rock Canyon, and the Sevier River winding through the valley. We love hiking in the many nearby national and state parks.
My husband is a former elementary school special education teacher and I worked in social services for 27 years before taking an early retirement.
We love to travel, and have visited much of the U.S., as well as several countries, including Australia, China, Costa Rica, Thailand, Canada, and the UK.
For the past four years I managed vacation rentals for my neighbors in Hawaii. I loved meeting the guests from all over the United States and the world. I told my husband that this is the ideal job for me, and I am excited to be able to share our new vacation rental properties in southern Utah with others!
